Carbon on EBAY

ANybody ever get any carbon fiber parts off EBAY?
I've been looking and they have alot of stuff and its alot cheaper than what I see on some of the sponsor sites
I know its probably not as good quality wise
but I don't wanna spend an arm and a leg either...
can anyone one here comment on the quality of these parts if you actually bought them???

Be very very very careful when buying carbon from ebay. Most seems to be wet lay and not very good. The examples I have seen appear to be knocked up in the garden shed. I guess you don't really want to put crap carbon on an MV! My advise, pay the monay and get good stuff.

Not all CFRP is created equal. If you are buying something cosmetic and simple (heat shield, heel guards) then the cheap junk on EBAY should be fine. Anything that requires a good fit (hugger, fenders, air ducts, etc), buy the good stuff so it fits. IMO, then more you mix and match carbon carbon parts that are located close together, the cheaper and more faux-pa it looks( like wearing two different plaids). The type of resin and sealant clear coat is also an important to consider. Some have a more yellow/green color to the resin and the finish appears to be wavy and has an inconsistent luster. The cheaper stuff is generally not well protected from UV radiation and can change the resin from clear to a turbid yellow/white.

Once again, you get what you pay for. But expensive CFRP doesn't mean it's good
