Cool F4 1078RR waterpump factory upgrade

Anyone aware of this? Should be available this month and points at a problem identified by the factory.

Hmm. What is the problem? Are the 1078's running exceedingly hot? Or, it may just be a precautionary measure.

Cool

Mine certainly is. Still spilling coolant when running stationary on a hot engine and upright. Apparently the factory will bring out the upgrade in a few weeks.

I know this upgrade is for the 1078. Do you think since so many people have complained they will change the 312????

Cool

Why not fit the same upgrade? Can't be that different.

Mine hasn't spewed any coolant but it has sat on 117 more than a few times.
What temp are you when it starts to discharge? The manual makes me laugh... it says if it gets to 120, just pull over.. stop the motorcycle and call your local dealer.
In one breath they they have been saying it's not a problem and in another they are saying if it is a prob, then just don't ride it!

It's great to hear MV is going to act on the issue. Might be too late for me.. I've already put in vesuvio's impellor and replaced the fans with aluminium ones.

Now in the process of doing Lee's fan mod. I beleive this will be the answer. The total cost of all three mods will be somewhere around 1200AUD. Somehow i don't think mv are about to compensate me for my trouble. they would answer with a smirk and say i'm just not riding fast enough.

The fact is that the problem stems from not enough air-flow. I think this forum has established that. The factory improving the impellor is a step in right direction but it is not the solution.

Lee's mod is the solution. He should be selling it as a kit and make some money out of it for all his trouble... Lee?

After a ride, on the stand and idling, it creeps towards the 109 mark, then starts to (audibly!!) boil and jumps to 130, while dumping some coolant. It actually happens when you change it from leaning on the stand to an upright position, i.e. when you're waiting at a traffic light.
