Seeking SPR purchase advice/opinions

Hello. This all might be moot, bike might be gone, seller had not responded to last text message.
Anyhow, '04, very low miles (1600) great price ($5500), 4 hours from home. On line pics, not so good, conversation w owner didn't go great, I actually had to cut him off while I was needed at work. Hard to believe work gets in the way of moto-play. Before I bug the owner I'd like your inputs:

SPR very cool because of what it is (#77 btw), but $3k more will buy more bike w a F4 1000, give or take. I've never been hp or displacement obsessed, it won't be a track day bike, it will be a low use Sunday blast and I enjoy a perfectly maintained, perfect condition bike, all part of the journey for me.
Bike needs a little attention: there was a tip over and it looks like the mud guard and rear signals are gone but it's 13 years old. I have a 15 year old Ducati S4 Fogarty edition and I can handle pretty much all of the little tasks involved with preserving and maintaining. Parts are easy. Am I in for a giant pain in the rear for maintenance parts for this machine? Closest dealer is 3 hours away, Rockwell's near West Point NY.
To summarize and apologies for not being more succinct, am I better off spending more for a newer 1st gen F4 or is SPR in of itself worth chasing? I don't mind doing the work as long as I can handle it and parts are available.
Thanks for your time.

I personally never liked the color scheme of the SPR but if it's still available to you, and you like it, I'd say go for it. The SPR is a rare bird. I've only seen one, and I get around. Other than the bodywork, the parts are just as easily obtainable as for any other F4. All the pre-10 F4's are easy to work on. Did you see SPR #88 in Houston that was posted yesterday? About the same specs/price but no visible damage.

Geez. Better bike for basically same money.

Allow me to add a new variable:
'09 F4 312RR under 2000 miles, 3 hours away, $8500. Of course money always matters, but at my age (closer to 60 than 50!) I've outgrown the gotta have it latest greatest, so probably keep this one for a while. Drop the extra $3k and go 312RR simply because there is no comparison?

Not if you have to ship it. I actually just picked up a bike from Houston about 2 weeks ago. It was exactly what I wanted at a decent price. Sometimes it's worth the extra time/money to get exactly what you want.

I had the same issue not too long ago, and likely the same 312RR as the one you're looking at. I'd go with the 312RR over the SPR, but again, that depends on taste.

I just spoke with the gent who has #77 in CT. Bike doesn't run great, he seems forthright disclosing all little detail issues, bike in Houston certainly looks more together, $5800 plus $400 to ship gets you $2k away from the 312RR. Hmm. Now what?

As I age (I'm not much younger than yourself), I realize the time we have left must be utilized strictly in pursuit of happiness. Get both. Most of the parts are interchangeable between the two so your spare parts bin will be smaller.

New Site Garage
The SPR that you speak of for 5500 might be the same one I emailed on. Tank will need to be painted also. Is rough but a good project to tinker with and restore to original.
