Others on here will be more knowledgeable than I. I think the gas tank has been painted. I think the SR had a solid red tank. Price seems steep to me.

True, solid red tank and it didn't have the bright blue designation on the tail cowl. Price is too steep...

The SR was supposed to be the "Ago", but the new 1000 was waiting in the wings so they held off....but not before a limited number of SRs were built. Basically a SPR in Red and Silver without the the extra goodies that came with the SPR (pipes and chip, cover, spare gearing, etc)

They were not numbered like other Limited Editions. The steering stem plaque says "SR" and the tach face has Agostini's signature. The were all Red and Silver.

IanSavs has one.....he didn't spend anything near that much. Of course, his had spent time in Florida and had a lot of surface corrosion, but was original and ran well.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

It's about as rare as the number of people who know they're rare. Stunning, nonetheless.

The tank is 100% original painted from factory, there are more variations that time...

300 were produced.

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Peter, can you back that up with some type of documentation? This paint scheme is not factory-standard to my knowledge. I don't claim to know everything about MV, hell my knowledge is better than most but still limited; however, the SR bikes that I have come across are all red/silver livery.

This could be the rarest SR, but I would be sceptical.
