2008 f4 1000 312r....worth buying?

I am looking at buying a 312R. Apparently only one of 150 imported to the USA. This is black/grey and has low miles. Everything is reported as stock but the owner says it runs really hot. Is this a reason not to get it?

If running hot is the only thing wrong then no there is no reason not to buy it. They all run hot. Well the price would have something to do with it. There is a black/white bike for sale on the forum for a low price and looks to be in good condition

No. I would say it has air in the radiator. Several easy fixes here on the forum.
Cheapest is to bleed the air out and and a better coolant.
Next you could upgrade the impeller.
Most expensive is to add a microtec to it.

That is not a reason to avoid buying that bike. The 312R is a joy to ride. It needs rear hub maintenance, it needs to have the fuel lines checked, it needs to have the coolant changed to Engine Ice and the system properly bled.

One of the things that has these bikes running "hot" is the ignition tables used. A cure for that is to replace the ECU with a Microtec from X-bikes. Another cure would be to have your original ECU tuned. I have a guy here that can drop my map into your ECU for a fee.

Yes, I have a 312R.
