312 1078 RR exhaust thoughts

Hi I know there's threads regarding this topic which I've read, I just want to have some confirmation to my thoughts.
I've got standard set up currently, I want some noise but not ultra loud as don't want cops on my case and will do track days where loudness can be an issue. Plus some extra hp and lighter, cooler running too.
So this is my thoughts on what I've read...
Whole ti system too expensive.
Headers from any pre 2010 f4 fit the 1078
Standard silencers can be hacked to give loudness but is tricky
1078 has welded link pipe to headers so can't buy replacement decat link pipe. Unless I get older set of headers too?
RG3 silencer is louder , not stupid loud, lighter?, but does it fit 1078? As there was a pic with 1078 had a inner flange that may stop it slipping on?
Don't want two pipe set up.
Can cat be drilled , hacked out of standard set up?

If anyone can confirm any of the above or help as I may have an option on Rg3 silencers if they fit
Many thanks
rob

The RG3 does fit; I have one and it's fine. It's louder but not too much. Doing the mod on the standard one will make it louder than the RG3.

As for the header, why not just decat it and that's all. The 1078 header is slightly different as with this engine it's positioned a bit higher due to the bigger engine. Any other header will fit but sit closer on the underside of the engine.

Oh and one last thought, are the rg3s slightly longer than standard 1078 as they don't seem to stick out so far as older f4s

Depends on which RG3 you will get. The slash cut ones are exactly the same as the stock ones. Others will be longer...

Thanks for your input , dumb question but how do you decat it, does it come apart or do you hack it out of the mid pipe as I thought it was all one piece with headers,

If you can get your hands on the Moto Corse Ti or the CC slip on then GET IT! Totally different league of materials, construction and finish to the RG3. Its about the 1/2 the weight of the RG3.
Be warn its not cheap.
