Headlight - Left hand side to right hand side driving

Hi everyone,

I've recently moved from the UK to Sweden and my bike (2007 F4 1000) has failed the Swedish equivalent to the MOT. It failed due to the headlight being set for a left side driving.

I have read contradicting stories, some say that you can adjust it for right side driving with 3 screws. Others say you need to replace the whole unit. The guy at the test centre showed me an arrow on the headlight glass that points to the left indicating that it is for left side driving. He said the unit needs to be replaced as the glass is angled to the left. Is there a definitive answer? Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Toad,
This is a common problem. You don't need to replace the glass as this isn't the issue. I believe I have the part in the garage if you want to do a swap for postage costs?

This thread should explain it a bit better.

While we're talking about headlamps, I have a question that isn't addressed in the Owner's Manual except to say "Don't":
What is the purpose of the adjuster located on the upper-left of the headlamp unit that we're told not to touch?
