1078 's oil leak

Ever since the new 1078 arrived home, it has had a niggling oil leak.
So I panned the forum and found several posts on this issue. Spent a few evenings searching for the leak, splattering baby powder here and there..[as mentioned by another member to use this method] just couldnt find the cause....until today.
Suns out, relaxed day off, all calm and collective, so here I go. Strip off the side panels again, remove the side stand and electrics outa the way.
Clean off the oil residue, fire up the bike and wait.......still waiting after 10 mins and nothing.
Ah haaaaaa, theres a bolt missing out of the sump, right behind where the side stand bracket fits....couldnt believe my eyes.
My old 998 Ducati used to shed bolts until I loctited every one I could find. But an MV. cripes, looks like another loctiting session.
Found a new bolt and hey presto, problem sorted..at last.
Moral to the story, always look for the bleeding obvious, well in my case anyway.

Oh yeah... I had that on the other side!

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.
