tailsection stuck

i went to open my tailsection and it will not open
i put key in, turn to left and can hear (and feel)
latch moving inside but no matter how hard i lift
it will not open - i tried pushing down, then up,
wiggling side to side but to no avail - i then reached
under seat from right side of bike with long needle
nose pliers and removed cable end from lock mechanism
so i could pull more on cable than lock/key will go
but still nothing - anyone have this problem ?
any ideas as of course with closed off undertail
you cant see anything - any help would be appreciated

thanks

It sounds like it is stuck somewhere else. Stand behind the bike and with both hands pry the left and right side of the fairing away from the subframe and lift. See if that helps.

I had this problem, just kept trying and it came undone.

I found pushing down on the tailsection, then turning the key works best.

Sounds like you already tried what I’ve found to work. But here it is any way.
The first time I tried to open the trunk I bent my key, so after bending it back I put the key in and push on the metal tab “behind the lock” that connects with the cable. With the key in you can move the back tab and the key will rotate along with the back tab. “I feel like if I look at the key to hard it will bend.” And as I’m pulling on the tab I pound on the back seat like I just realized I flushed my paycheck down the toilet. Then the back tab / key will rotate about another 10 degrees and then the boot will open. I find the locking tabs get such quit often.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

I was having a rough time with mine too a few days ago. Wiggled it around a bit, a little force, a little finesse and it connects.

found the problem !!

i found the problem which is a broken locking assy
i took a big screwdriver and pried (very gently) down
on the black plastic tray under the tailsection and
coudnt see anything wrong, therefore i took a 1/4"
drive socket/extension with a swivel and removed
the two nuts holding the locking mechanism down
and it lifted right up - i found the plastic part of
the locking mechanisn to be broken - so when i turned
the key the cable was pulling the latch open but just
pulling on the broken plastic - see attached photo
i will probably have one of my guys here at my shop
make a replacement part out of metal instead of waiting
on a replacement part that could just break again
actually it never worked right from the beginning

And cost you an arm and a leg from MV. Make several and sell them to us.
