1000r-£10950

Yep, my love/hate relationship is now turning to hate again as I peruse www.autotrader.co.uk and find a good handfull of brand new unregistered UK 1000R's for under £11000, thats £3400 less than I paid for mine 15 months ago, I guess it makes mine worth about £9000

MV's all gone now, still have a soft spot for MV's, waiting for MV to tick all my boxes again.
Previously (and about 40 others)748SP, S4, S4R, 98R1, 2000 F4, F41000S, F41000R, 08R1, 09R1, S1000RR, RSV4 Factory aPRC in Garage now

Who has the discipline to wait until a model is getting replaced? Me, for sure not! I changed from a 999s to the F4R and I could at that time, 17 months ago, buy the F4S at discount price, butÖ.It is just a question of money. If I have them I will buy a product at the start of his life.

What do you think; still having the F4S would you be happier as you are now?
Having the F4S would you consider now buying the F4R or the new model 1078?

Just as a matter of curiousity from the viewpoint of this side of the pond... do those include VAT prices (not just for the ones for sale now, but including the £14400 you paid for yours)? Or is there is still some VAT on top of that?

Prices in the UK always include VAT (for new goods only) unless stated otherwise. I don't know how it works where you are, but we also pay VAT on the full purchase price, not just the difference between that and our trade-in. (Which is how it worked in Canada when I was there. But then they have to pay sales tax on second-hand bikes, which I always thought was criminal.)

Yeah I Guess so MV really need to address this issue though of non communication with the dealers, at least with the like of Honda etc they get forwarned of new models and are able to adjust their stock levels accordingly.

I know it pisses my dealer off when he orders two new 312's for the 'showroom' then MV release a 'newer' model.

Theres one thing I am quite certain about though, this bike will probably be the last new MV I will ever buy, it won't take too many people to make the same decision before MV's sales drop even further.

I picked up a Ducati Hyper motad for a friend the other day from Italia Moto, he told me they are about 95% Ducati these days, sold 55 1098's this year against a couple of MV's............sad really
