Does my fan work?

Is there a way I can check if my fan is working? I can't hear it kick in, and I have tried the trick of killing the engine with the killswitch then turning it back on, and I can hear no fan.

I don't want to go through the ride home after the bike piss*d coolant all over the road after 3 traffic lights. Probably a case of being overfilled but still, 112 celcius can't be right.

As a side note, where do you UK riders get water wetter or engine ice in the UK? Do you trust the eBayers? Is there a trusted brand, like this one?

I can't remember about the Evo3 because I only had some brief rides on one, but on my early F4 750 the fans would still run with the engine not running. My 312, no; but the old 750, yes. If you're at 112C and the fans aren't on, I'd say they're definitely not working right.

I would say check fans, or electrical. At 112* fans should be on.

you could take off the coolant temp sensor and ground it to see if the fan comes on. that will let you know if the fan functions or not. no big deal changing out the sensor if necessary.

i would just turn the bike with a faring off. Wait a few mins and let the temp climb......watch to see if the fan turns on or not. If you hit 210 or 215 with out the fan coming on then its not working

I can hear when my 750's fan comes on. And I can feel the air being blown through the fairing. (Though not in leathers.)

If you can't tell the fan's running then perhaps it's not. It's obvious to me when mine is.

Try Demon Tweaks for Water Wetter, but don't expect it to make any difference..

My fan keeps stalking me so I guess she doesn't work

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

Have you checked the fuse and that the fan wiring is not melted by exhaust.
