2012 MV Agusta F4

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here to the forum and I'm in the midst of purchasing my first MV! I believe it's an F4 R but I'm not 100% sure. Does anyone know what the differences are between the F4 and the F4 R for 2012? Does MV have an email address where I can send the VIN to double check? I'd prefer not having to make an international call if possible (I'm in the US). Thanks in advance for your time.

In 2012 the F4R was introduced and had the Corsa-corta (short-stroke) engine. I believe there was a Corsacorta decal on the fairing.

To complicate matters slightly 2010-2012 "standard" F4s had the model designation F4-1000R. There's a fair few dealers around describing standard bikes from this period as F4Rs, confusing them with the 2012 bonafide F4R.

So I really should contact MV and have them tell me based off of the VIN? Thanks for the replies.

For 2012 should the R have rear ohlins? Or was that introduced in the rear for the R in 2013?

Is this a F4 or F4R? It has a R on the fairing - this is the color scheme of the bike I'm buying.
