Running temps?

What are some normal running temps?

I haven't been able to ride much due to the cold weather but am wondering about the temps.

I have ridden a few times and noticed in around 40* weather while sitting at a light even for just a minute I was at 2 bars over the line. While riding I think it was around 1-2 bars under the line.

Is this something to really pay attention to?

If it is is there something I can or should do?

I noticed a repair job on the rad while looking at the bike. The previous owner said he didn't know anything about it and must have been from previous owner. Funny thing is he is a member here and I noticed his post about having the rad fixed and they botched it a bit lol...

Before anyone else says it, have a search on this site for the answer.

But as I'm in a good mood.

Yes they run hot

No, nothing to worry about

But I would check 2 things:

1 - the repair bodge (more info please)
2 - that your fan kicks in at appropriate temperature

Unless you get flashing warning light and coolant pushing out the overflow...don't worry about it. High performance motorcycle engines normal operating temps are 180F ~210F.

Yes, it will go up and down as you sit still and move through the air.

Strange?

My first second and third bikes I couldn't wait to mod it. One bike I spent thousands on modding it the way I liked. Funny thing is since picking up the mv I really don't have the urge to mod it at all...

I bought some stomp grips and a fender elim kit but other then that I really can't think of anything I want to change on the bike. I can't really think of anything I want to upgrade either.

Does that seem strange to you lol...

I wouldn't mind a passenger seat cowl actually. Can't seem to find one but I think I could do that without taking away from what's looks pretty much perfect as is...

You are a wise man...save your money for new tires on a regular basis.

Doesn't seem strange at all. Emma was pretty much perfect from the factory. I have cosmetic mods, nothing performance related which is where the real dollars are spent. I don't really see the need for me to make any changes although I do like the look of the QD exhaust. Might be something I consider down the road.

Keep them, if you decide to sell it later, the lack of passenger's pegs might be a deal breaker.

Typically not worth much, since everybody probably has their own. They also make for good anchor points when loading the bike to a truck/trailer...
