Setting Levels Explained

Does a comprehensive explanation of each level of TCS, ABS, etc. exist? For example the Panigale manual states that at ABS level X, it's active on both front and rear wheels, at level Y, it's only active on the front, and at level Z, it's completely off. I've read my manual, but it just says levels 1-8 with no explanation even of if 1 was least intrusive or most intrusive.

I believe it works like this, U got ABS level 1/2/off
1 is front wheel only (track)
2 is both wheels (road)
off(track)

For the TCS, 1 is the least and 8 is the most. I have mine set on 3 but if I hit it to hard in 1st at say 20 MPH it wheelies quite easily and quite high. Freaked me out the first time it happened since I wasn't expecting it. Auto shifting into 2nd at high Rs also gets the front wheel off the ground at setting 3 for a hundred feet or so but only 5 or 6 inches I believe. That's always fun and impresses onlookers and the other bike I've left in the dust.

m0dnar, you may have come across this already....I found it useful as a starting point, and I've made so many little adjustment here and there I can't remember it all. Perhaps all F4 RR owners could post there settings. I've personally find lowering the rear suspension by 8mm has helped with making the bike not so keen to turn in.

It works for me. It's a good balance that gives some level of resistance but still being able to play.
Just watch giving it full throttle at low speeds in first.

@Paul, yes I have found that link. I think the only modification I've made from their suggestions was using Normal gas sensitivity instead of Rain. I'm not sure if it's because I have the 2013.5 software update, but Rain was too nebulous of when the power was going to actually come. Sport was far too aggressive, but Normal so far is pretty damn good.

It's just surprising that MV didn't specifically explain each of the levels and it's just up to us to experiment. Oh well, just means another track day for me!

@fingertight, I don't think I'll be actively trying to power wheelie out of the slow corners at my local track, but... when that final lap flag goes up in the last session... who knows.

@fingertight: I thought that Traction Control only controls the traction of the back wheel. It will not stop the front coming up under hard acceleration as the rear wheel is not spinning!

I'm pretty sure I read it is anti-wheelie as well. Not sure in what way it works (likely through the inertia sensor and/or reduced throttle response) but my understanding is that at a certain setting you will make it near impossible to pull a wheelie. I don't know that setting, but like I said, at three it's not too hard so it's not three.
