New 2013 F4?

Hello MV forum!

I was recently perusing my local craigslist adds for available Ducati's as I do on occasion to see if their are any good deals.
Much to my surprise, a local dealer recently posted this add...
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...372561768.html

The add states they have a few left over, brand new, still in crate, 2013 MV F4's for $13,498! This to me seems like a amazing deal!

Among the many questions I have, the following I would like some advice on.
Is this as good as a deal as I think it is?
Any issues with the 2013s I should be aware of?
Any potential issues with a bike sitting crated for 3 years?
I owned a 2006 MV in the past and not getting into all the numbers would this bike be a night and day difference from my previously owned MV?

A side note I was planing on placing a deposit on the new 2016 Triumph Thruxton R prior to seeing this.

Anything additional advice is much appreciated!!
Thanks.

I have 13 f4 and I am the second owner. First owner he had the shutting down issue as soon as he took the bike home. Got it fixed after several attempts and the fault was the tilt sensor. He sold it to me at 500 miles. As soon I got the bike I ran into the same problem. Ended up the tilt sensor needed to be changed again. Aside from the shutting down that's all the major problem I had with the bike. Oh yeah they get hot.

That's a pretty good deal By the time you add fees etc should be about 15000 plus you still get two year warranty. I love my 13

Yes, sounds like a reasonable deal. You could also search in cycletrader.com for possible directions on pricing. Since it's new, they will need to apply fixes for all the known issues. Do the maintenance for the length of time until current. There may be a software update as well. All these work need to be done within the price negotiated.

I am also located in Minneapolis metro area (Minnetonka). And, I bought mine from Heinen as well. If you get the bike, we could go for a ride!

cheers.

Just make sure it gets all the factory updates for 2013 F4 - ignition switch antenna, quickshifter bolt, exhaust reinforcement under the license plate holder, and the latest firmware update. After that they're pretty much bulletproof.

Thanks mate I seem to be spending more and more time out of the country lately - not much time to ride. It's great to see you, too )

Hey Zippidy. If you're still thinking about whether the '13 is a good price...before I bought my '14 F4 RR I looked at a brand new '13 RR and it was priced at $23,500. I know you're not looking at an RR but it seems $10K less is a good deal, full factory warranty and all.

I really like the new Thruxton R too! But at $14500, its no comparison in value... not to mention sex appeal...

I bought my '13 1090rr as new old stock about 10 months ago.. I think you are getting a very fair deal --- however, used F4 values sink like a rock, so if you were willing to buy used you could probably buy a '13 RR for similar money(saw a couple '12's for ~12-13k)

yeah, why limit at one F4 when you can have a spare sitting there in the crate ready to go? Love the smell of a factory fresh... Cosmoline, fresh rubber, thermoplastic... do they make a cologne like that?
