Mv F4 2015

Hi all, shopping for a new F4 (white with grey rims). Noticed rear tyre dimensions on the Pirelli SC fitted are 190/55 where MV official website tech sheet and internet say it should be 200/55. Anyone that has bought the new 2015 F4 - could they confirm exactly what tyres they have?

Thanks!

Are they trying to sell you a 14 bike as a 15?

It's MY2014 but they will get around saying it's 2015 road registered... Anyway MY2014 also came with 200/55 rear tyres. I'm just wondering if it's possible it came out of the factory with a 190 or the dealer swapped it...

200 section tire on 14 and I believe even the 2013 models F4. The handling and electronics are tuned for this tire, traction control and all.

'14 F4 RR ABS Pearly White/ Deep Black (13K miles still rolling, Haha!)
'13 Panigale S ABS (18.5K miles SOLD)
'15 Panigale R (2K miles)
'15 Fireblade SP (1K miles)

Good point on TC, did not think of that....! Actual contact patch is smaller vs what the TC is thinking when it "kicks in". Would ABS be affected too?

I had assumed it was all to do with gyros etc as actual grip on ground can vary due to temps, road surface etc. But there must be an element of tyre size/contact too...? Any evidence the TC uses tyre size as a component of input? From MV...

I will go back to dealer and seek an explanation. By the looks of it a tyre was swapped somewhere.....

Based in New Zealand

Just had a response from MV Italy...

we inform you that the F4 1000 MY 2015 is homologated for both the measures 190/55 and 200/55.

The difference between the two measures is essentially the handling of the motorcycle: more reactive and fast in direction changes with the 190, while the 200 would provide a feeling of better stability.

Best regards,
