Loose exhaust cables

I had a bag strapped to my passenger seat and one of the straps got loose and melted on my exhaust. I took out the upper exhaust bolts to better clean the melted plastic off, then noticed the cables in the attached photos were very loose. What are they, and how do I make sure everything is ok?

Those cables are for your exhaust valve and have to be connected. When you ride the exhaust servo motor opens and closes the exhaust valve as needed.

They can be tightened and have adjusters towards the cable barbs to do so, although how exactly the mechanics work, I forget because I only looked at it in passing when I disassembled to re-mount my exhaust. I left mine the way it was because it was already aligned in length. There is a tiny bit of slack in the full open position on one of the cables. I believe the servo needs calibration once the cables are set in order for the ECU to know how open or closed the valve is. Check maybe the service manual has some instructions.

Well one of the knobs is gone, so I have to replace them. Thanks for the answers, now to see if I can find some cables
