new to forum but need help

Hi im brand new to the forum and just got my dream bike yesterday but as my luck would have it the next day after i buy the bike the gear selector is really floppy and so i looked on the forum for answers. The bike is a 2010 f4 1000r with only 6600 mile. Is this a common problem or just a fluke?

I found a write up on a 1078rr on forum, is the process the same for the f4? also i found these part # on pro italia 8000B2848 8000B5544 are they the right ones?

I don't recall if the 2010 F4 had the breaking return spring problem, but that sounds like what it might be.
This is the spring that centers the shift lever when you release it after changing gears.
I take it you mean the shift lever is not returning firmly to its central position waiting for the next gear change?
Those part numbers appear to be correct....B5544 most likely.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

There was a service bulletin for the return spring on the 2010 bikes, could very well be your issue.
