MV Agusta Makes US Superbike Debut at Daytona
Legendary Motorcycle Tuner Eraldo Ferracci Returns Home to Daytona International Speedway with Riders Luca Scassa and Matt Lynn on the MV AgustaWillow Grove, PA (March 7, 2007) Team Fast by Ferracci, spearheaded by Eraldo Ferracci, anticipates giving fans at the Daytona International Speedway a thrill ride as they team up with AMA Superbike newcomer MV Agusta Motorcycles, hitting the track this week in preparation for the race, Saturday, March 10, 2007. The new alliance between these two Italian forces brings both motorcycle legends out of racing retirement. After a nine year hiatus from Superbike racing, Team Fast by Ferracci -- a 2-time AMA Superbike and 2-time World Superbike Champion -- is looking to repeat history. With 270 grand prix wins, 76 world championships, and most recently earning the title of world’s fastest production 1000cc motorcycle, MV Agusta also has tremendous race-bragging rights, further reinforcing this win-win affiliation.Having followed Superbike racing during my absence, I know the competition is strong, comments Eraldo Ferracci, Owner, Team Fast by Ferracci. But, with a dedicated team of crew and riders and the support of the MV Agusta factory we hope to stir up some excitement. I am really happy to be back racing and doing what I love most.Racing is in my father’s blood. His past successes ensure MV enthusiasts around the world a level of competition second to none, explains Larry Ferracci, CEO, Cagiva USA/MV Agusta. We are fortunate to be able to realize our passion for motorcycles and collaborate for what we expect to be a powerful force in Superbike racing.Team Fast by Ferracci riders Luca Scassa, hot off of winning the 2006 Italian Superstock championship and Matt Lynn also have high expectations for the upcoming season. During preliminary testing in November 2006, both riders circulated under the existing track record at Florida’s Jennings Motor GP course and adapted quickly to the Fast by Ferracci set-up MV Agusta F4.The MV Agusta marque was brought back to life, after a 25-year hiatus, in full form by some of the industry’s most renowned designers and engineers at MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. in Italy. In 1997, this celebrated brand re-entered the competition with its premiere Series Oro model. Recognized for its exquisite design and incomparable performance, the MV Agusta brand continues to be touted as superior by motorcycle press worldwide. Holding a title for most wins in Gran Prix racing, MV Agusta anticipates keeping that reputation as a rookie in the American racing circuit this year. MV Agusta is imported by Cagiva USA, located outside of Philadelphia in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. For more information please visit www.mvagustausa.com.
