2011 MVAgusta.net Southern California Meet, July 9 at Angeles Crest
June 28, 2011

The 2011 MVAgusta.net Southern California meet has been scheduled for the morning of Saturday, July 9 at 9am. Once again, we'll form the largest MV Agusta Motorcycle gathering in the United States here in California and ride as a group together up Angeles Crest Highway from Glendale to Newcombs Ranch for lunch.

The start point is the same as years past when we had the meet at Angeles Crest Highway. We will meet at 9am at the Shell Station at the intersection of 210 and Angeles Crest Highway. You can click the link below to find a map. There is a small road adjacent to the gas station which can be used for gathering together prior to heading up the mountain. You are welcome to get there as early as you wish, but don't be late! We'll have kickstands up at approximately 9:30am.

As always, we have groups forming from Northern California and San Diego (along with smaller groups within Los Angeles) heading to the start point. All riders are welcome. The Northern California to Los Angeles ride will be a 3 day, 2 night trip down and up. We have done the route many times and look forward to any new riders who would like to join. Friday morning we depart down 101, connect to 58 through the rollercoaster and stop for lunch in Taft. We then continue down 33 and over the mountains into Ojai where we connect back to 101 to the hotel in Glendale. Sunday morning we'll depart from Glendale and take 101 to San Luis Obispo and ride scenic highway 1 along the coast stopping for some photos along the way and lunch at Nepenthe. I have started threads for people to add themselves for both Northern California and San Diego Groups:

San Diego -> Los Angeles: Click for thread

For those not from town, we recommend staying at the BEST WESTERN PLUS EAGLE ROCK INN located at 2911 Colorado Boulevard:

From years past, you can request a first level room adjacent to the parking lot to stay close to your motorcycle (how close is up to you.. as there is not really a sidewalk). It has a parking lot which is not in view from the street which is a plus, and is only a few minutes away from the meet point.

We do ask that you add your name to the ongoing list in the meet thread: Meet thread

We look forward to seeing you on our annual meet!

And I say Malibu. Too many cops on the crest looking to write up for any reason!

Although the roads are fun, LA is much more centered for people to get there (especially for us coming from northern california and others coming from vegas). Most people are already in LA

That isn't to say, Malibu doesn't have its share of cops...

They do, but they are not like the cops at the crest! They are there for one reason and one reason only, tickets to bikers! They will write up anyone with a aftermarket exhaust, no reflectors and blinkers at the crest! Malibu is more chill.

Well we've done the event at the crest before without a hitch. I know you're bias, too

We'll see what happens. We need a good eating venue in Malibu so I know you can get on that one since you're keen on Malibu

Not bias at all, the cops are the only thing that bother me about the crest, other than that, its a beautiful ride! Im down either way.
