Seems HD is attempting to be slightly more competitive on price, since it can no longer rely simply on looks and superior finish quality.
Also, surely (assuming a new buyer) MV will release an 'R' version with better suspension, some carbon, and maybe more electronics, which would be priced a little more than an 1198S.
But the price drops on European motorcycles is a nice, temporary relief to things that usually go up in price.
I doubt anybody is paying retail for the 1198 though, I have been trying to sell my 1098 for months and unless I give it away nobody is buying them...
