The diavel is quite different from the monster. That just looks like a Brutale with a different seat, rear wheel and handlebars... Fail to see the point of it, maybe expected a bit more.
675 and 800 F3 and B3 look EXACTLY the same. No one really complained about the original F4 and B4 not physically changing for 10 years with the exception of paint and do-dads. MV is doing something different, it both excites me and frightens me. But they need a bigger market to bring in more money to open more dealerships to produce more facilities to maintain more bikes which means more available parts. I don't see much of a problem with this.
Just like Ducati with the 999, that caused an uproar amongst purists, but it is a beautiful bike to some. Not to mention Ducati uses the same engine in several different bikes, if that's something that bothers you (generally speaking).
The B3, F3, Rivale and Tourismo all basically share the same engine, frame, forks, swing arm etc and this makes sense for a small company like MV and then they have bolted on completely different styled bodywork, tanks and sub frames to create bikes that look and perform differently from each other to create a naked, supersport, supermoto and a tourer, I completely get that. But for me the dragster looks like it's been built from an accessories catalogue. It's so similar to the brutale it hardly warrants being touted as a new model, in fact when your sat on it and riding it apart from the handlebars how could you tell you weren't on a Brutale?
It's not that I don't like it, to me it just seems like someone at MV wished that this was the Brutale they built in the first place but didn't and so rather than wait a couple years and bring it out as the "New 2016 Brutale" they've brought it out now and given it a different name?

Now this is purely speculation on my part but...
MV named it the DRAGSTER for a reason. Perhaps it's because it's built with acceleration in mind. If that is indeed the case, it would stand to reason MV would use a hopped up engine, (not the same as the Brutale 800) and a lower final gear ratio, (maybe even a close ratio box) to give it that drag race giddy-up.
I have to believe that there is more to this then a few cosmetic doodads.
I get this feeling that MV only look at Ducati as their competition and seem to forget about the other brands out there. Things are hotting up in 2014 which looks to be a big year for the naked bikes, with people seeming more price conscience. At £11k+ how big a market is there for MV with the dragster?
AFAIK emmissions specs for the US are the same as for the B800. Nothing special to expect - right?
For me they are leaving the way of perfect Italian design for a few bucks. Just compare the fine timeless design of the first F4 to that dinosaur :wtf: .
I am not saying I don't like it, just it seems to be a mk2 Brutale 800, appeals to a very very narrow market. The downside is it costs more, in the UK a big markup.

I need to see it in the flesh and maybe sit on one but the tail unit looks a little too short to me, I like the design of it, it's just too short? And it might limit your options to sling any soft panniers over it?
For Jimbo_4 ... I'm I sorry missed your post. It is listed at £10,999 same as Rivale with ABS . In fact I put the whole price list in the MV Owners Club Magazine for their winter 2013 edition.
This minor variation on the Brutale looks as pointless as the Rivale will prove to be. Neither seem to add any value over the donor model? In fact the Rivale offers less practical ability. I predict lack of sales will see both these variants dumped after 12/18 months. As said, they can become a B3 accessorise option.
I don't agree on the Rivale statement, they are selling very well in EU already and getting great reviews in general, physically there's a big difference between the styling and size of the Rivale and B3.
I just think it should have stopped there, this dragster is not different enough though, in my opinion.
Some "spy" pics were released. My gigantic, happy ass isn't fitting on this thing at all. Not without looking like a gorilla raping a squirrel. Makes me sad.
I think the whole concept of the Dragster is just spot on.
Peoples ride mostly at tracks or on twisty back roads.
Consequently there is no use for a long tail unit with a pillion seat.
You don't carry saddle bags or passengers for such adventures.
In other words it is a reduction to what You need to have fun.
In the case You need a camera or so You could still use a tank bag.
To all miserable guys.
If You need a touring bike than get a Turismo Veloce.
Or get a Brutale.
Leave the fun toys to the boys who care to have a great time in Your back yard.
