So i started replacing the bearing...very easy btw but as im looking at a sealed bearing on the wheel side and an un sealed bearing on the sprocket side..and on another post showing the sprocket side bearing being replaced with the same bearing. Im a little confused on which bearing is being replaced.
Anyone want to chime in? Noel is not near his skype at the moment. |

Al;
you're changing the sealed bearing on the wheel side, the one behind the stupid Seeger ring when you remove the old bearing, grind the OD of the outer race about 0.008"/ 0.2mm.....then use it to press the new bearing in if you don't grind the OD, it will stick in the hub ![]()

I actually started pressing it in and it friigin went in crooked almost all the way in. So i had to hammer it out and actually popped the little black seal out in between the races...guess i need to buy a new bearing and use a vise instead of C clamp. Let me know the cost

Use a workshop press if you can access one.Once you start straight, away you go.To help, you can also throw the bearing in the freezer for a couple of hours and slightly warm the hub,that will help.But mainly start straight that's the trick.Good luck.
