Hi folks,
Been a little while since I've been on here. Haven't been on the MV for a while too, but that will hopefully change very soon (dreary british weather permitting) as the bike has just returned from 'transformative surgery' with Chris at X-Bikes.Hats off to Dave and Andrew for providing inspiration, great postings and advice with their projects. It's been over 18 months now since I kicked my own little project off, with the purchase of a pair of Ohlins FGR100's from Dan Kyle. Little did I know then what I was getting into. I am super pleased though with the end result!! In brief the mods on this project have included, in no particular order: MV Corse forged wheels Brembo T-Drive discs (more on those later) Ohlins FGR100 gas-charged superbike forks Kyle 52mm adjustable clip-ons, needle bearing throttle Titanium front axle Moto Corse F4C Billet Upper Triple Clamp and bearing dust cover Brembo Racing X99C460 monobloc calipers Sato Racing adjustable rear sets Brembo 19 RCS radial master brake cylinder Brembo 16 RCS clutch master cylinder Moto Corse reservoirs to suit Brembo RCS master cylinders Moto Corse Ohlins TTX36 rear shock Microtec M227 ECU Cordona quickshifter Exhaust de-cat Shorai LFX battery Painted front guard Chris's work was simply awesome. He of course did the Microtec ECU changeover, quick shifter fitting and dyno/tuning work, but also the hard work getting the other chassis, suspension and brake components fitted and machining and making up the custom spacers, brackets and assorted pieces to make everything fit together so well. We had some delays and shenanigans with Brembo UK getting custom-offset brake centres made up, but otherwise Chris dealt with all the 'niggles' that came up on a project of this type with aplomb. Thanks also go out to the other great suppliers, some of whom are site sponsors, I had the good fortune to deal with, including: Al at Design Corse Dan at Kyle Racing USA Roland and Jason at Motovation USA Alex and Vikki at Gutsy Performance Davide at Moto Corse Brian at Motowheels I will post up some pics of the final result in the next few days. ![]() |

Glad to see I am a bad influence. Great work and like everyone else. I can't wait to see the end results. Make sure you get the forks adjusted for you and the bike. This made the greatest effect on mine after I had the correct springs installed.

Those wheels look amazing, along with the rest. How much weight do they save? More pics when you can.

Sean The bike already looks fantastic and I can't wait to see the finished project.. If we ever see the Sun and some dry weather over here next spring, we'll have to arrange a ride out somewhere nice.. Good Job ![]() .
