I'm wondering if the tail vents on next to the taillight are functional or cosmetic. I will be fabricating some fiberglass inserts which will act as blinkers this winter and depending if they're functional or not will influence the design. By the look of them they look cosmetic as I do not see any air inlet toward the front of the tail section but I may be wrong.
I was thinking of making a flow through vent through the inserts to flow a little more with the lines of the bike as well as let air pass through (if any). The stock license holder is on there right now any I would really like to get rid of it. I just need to get to these blinkers done before I hack away at it and reshape it. Thanks for any info. |

They appear to be cosmetic only. On the other hand, the F3 exposing the rectifier to airflow seems like a good idea.

The wife and I visited an authorized MV Agusta Service Centre Yesterday. I was very interested to see an F3 that they are doing some custom work on. One of the mods is mounting the stock turn signals behind those very vents. Those large signals practically eliminate any air flow there might be. I stress this is an authorized MV shop so I’m sure if anyone would know about mods that might affect critical systems it would be these guys.
By the way, the signals are totally hidden yet I think their flashing is more noticeable then out in the open / stock location because they illuminate the entire cove along the side of the tail. I was thinking of doing this mod, now I'm definitely doing it.
