Default What did I break and how do I fix it?

I was working on changing the Valve Cover gasket today and upon reassembly, this piece was loose and just fell off practically.

It looks like a cheap part to fix. It says "AMP" on it. But knowing these bikes, nothing is ever cheap.

Also, I damaged the black piece on the throttle body that holds the top throttle cable. Is there any way I can replace that piece only?

Looks like a fuel injector to me. What are you riding ? Looks like a 1000S in your avatar.

Fuel injector connector. Amp (amphenol , tyco electronics) makes them and you might be able to source one through mouser.com

Thanks guys. It is an F41000S.

And it's the 2nd injector from the left side. Thanks again.

I'll check mouser.com

Do you know where I can get the black piece that holds the top throttle cable without having to replace the whole assembly?

Wink connector?

Turbo329;
if its the AMP connector for the fuel injector.....and it doesn't look like it to me

DON'T buy a new one, you'll need the pins, seals and the ~$300 crimper and maybe an insertion tool too

look for somebody with a burned harness or hit an auto junk yard, take an injector with you, there are very few styles of connectors and just splice it in
I need to go to the boneyard for a bunch of 4 wire AMP connectors so i can move my 2 channel Lambda meter from bike to bike

my friend of 41 years, Bob, would tell you the same thing.....
he builds through hole ECUs.....CNC'd boxes, gold contacts, Teflon coated wire and Kevlar lined harness covers.....the real deal

some of the crimpers are ~$5-600

I'll send you a PM

Just wanted to say a Public "Thank You" to CAG. He came through in a BIG way! Awesomeness personified!

Also thanks to the Knurl for his technical insight and everyone else who posted.
