I have started with the craziness of my F4R. I could not wait any longer to start the project. The only parts left to show are the swingarm, clip-ons, triple clamp, calipers, and fender. Swingarm is done just have to pay JDS and wait for the planes to start back up in the UK. Triple clamps will be here on Thursday. Then I start the work on the spacers. Fender and clip-ons were ordered on Sunday and should be here by the end of the week. Calipers I am still working on a deal with a guy from the Duc forum. My logic for the stand made from 2X4s is that I am in the south so this is the standard way. I also hung the subframe from the ceiling to complete the look. Frame is at the painters and should be done this week also. Not sure if I will place it all together then wait to switch out the swingarm or just have everything palced on and wait for it to show. These bikes are great to work on. I had no problems taking it apart. I will have to see when I am done getting it back together if I can say the same.

Ohlins FGR 800
I can't wait till this is all done and take her out for a ride. Plans are to take her to my track day at Road Atlanta the end of May. Just for a few sessions to adjust some on the Ohlins. Will use the Duc most of the day. |
