Disco Volante 175 photos - Milan show 1953?
A friend loaned me his copy of Mick Walker's book "MV Agusta" from 1987. Despite a few errors a good read. (I'd like to own a copy myself if anyone has a spare to sell).
One photo (p. 53) is from the November 1953 Milan show, and shows two Disco Volante 175's, new models introduced in that year. It is intriguing, but unfortunate cropping means only part of the Earles-forked machine is visible. I'm wondering if anyone has run across this or similar photos showing the whole machine or other views of these two bikes on the stand at the (1953 Milan) show? Best, Ivan |

There is a copy of this book on ebay at the moment, good value too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MV-AGUSTA-...item1c253e8c28 I have seen quite a lot of pictures of these two show bikes but can't find my copies at the moment. They are basicaly production versions with virtualy no difference to the production bikes. Cheers. Dorian. |

Thanks Dorian, good tip and I intend to bid. On ebay one can never count on getting something at a good value price, unless of course it is listed as "buy it now"!
Agree with you, these two bikes do appear to be production versions. But I would like to obtain more photos with more details! Assuming it's a production machine, you can't get much better proof of correctness than pointing at a picture known to have been snapped in 1953 and saying "check this little detail out". The camera really is the nearest thing to a time machine. Ivan Quote:
