That would be very interesting data to see.

Though, you must differentiate between Limited Edition models and Kits. Oro, Tamburini, Veltro, Senna, SPR, AGO, CC were limitied editions.

SP-01(viper kit) and Corse are kits, although limited, they are kit to be fitted on any sort of F4.

Same with Brutale; only ORO was LE. All other, like Gladio, America, Starfighter were kits.

Totally agree that we must distinguish between Limited Edition models and Kits.

I'll give it a try. Help me if you want if it is not complete what you write above.

I honestly don't know the figures about how many kits were produced. I imagine 300 each? And than there were also Basic and Full kits. 300 each or 300 combined?

Also; I think Italia was a kit, and Wally and hydrogen were bikes, so that makes 3 LE for Brutale.

Anyone has data of how many bikes were produced? They said it was about 15,000 of MkI Brutales, but the number was not split among models.

I think they don't even know in the factory :D

I came across something once that there were 301 F4 oros produced, the last being for a Ferrari F1 driver who missed out on a bike from the original allocation.

Australia also has the F4 1000 Nero. This was a limited edition bike with 'AUS F4 Nero xx/21' plaque on the yoke. Pictures of the bike along with the advert can be found at http://gallery.mvagusta.net/emmevi125s/mvf4nero/. Not sure if it was a standard F4 with a plaque affixed by the Australian distributor.

The F4 'special parts'. This bike was available from the manufacturer and there is one in Melbourne. I think the release date was 2000. The pic is from the catalogue. At a guess it was made to showcase MV Agusta special parts, hence the name.

For the kit bikes the following numbers and variations exist. These are the maximum number of bikes so the actual may be less. Some bikes also had optional extras (such as choice of frame colour or rims) as well as customizing options from the Corse catalogue. Also not sure if the total number of bikes applies to each variation or both variations combined. The information is sourced from the MV Agusta sales brochures for the bikes.

a limited edition bike was the Brutale presented to the Italian soccer team for winning the world cup. I don't think this bike was available to the general public but I might be wrong.

Thanks for a clear and good answer.

I put up 21 AUS F4 1000 Nero for themselves. In Europe and the U.S. I do not think these are LTD. See this is for sale in the United States.

F4 'special parts', I believe is a promo bike. So I'm waiting to get some more info before I bring it up in the list.

The Brutale Italia, I think the first 24-25 bikes were for the Worldcup team and the rest to the open markeddet.
Good if it's someone who knows more about this.

Also, it would help to list the year(s) that each model/edition was made. I can never keep the basic models straight, much less the huge lists you posted! I had no idea there were so many 'special' bikes made.
I will make an attempt to add in the year. But some of the models I need your help to find the right year.
Correct me know if I'm wrong on any of the models.

There has appeared a few models I was not familiar with too.

Wikipedia has a large amount of information on models etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mv_agusta
I have seen it. And there are some models which I have not heard about.

F4 1000 RR edition 50ans école d'aviation de chasse
F4 1000 SP-01
F4 1000 CR Platino
F4 1000 R 312 Scuderia Ferrari
F4 750 S Limited Edition America
F4 750 Agostini
Brutale 1078 RR Jean Richard
Brutale 990 R Brand Milan

Someone who has information about these. If they are made in one copy, I would not call them LTD.

I'd be interested to learn teh exact production/sales (ha ha) figure sof the "normal" models, that is the ones I had: F4 1000S, F4 312R, F4 1078RR, Brutale 1078RR.

My guess they will not be that much higher than the socalled "limited" editions. Am I right?
I welcome any rumors about production numbers, if there is anyone who has heard of something they want to believe.

If there is someone who has direct contact with the factory, I Willy be very grateful if they could send a request to Varese on production numbers.:)

interesting thread, other than production can anyone verify how many were shipped to each continent/country? my near by dealer stated that, 150 of 2005 F4 1000S 1+1 were shipped to the US. is this true? i know these bikes are rare, but less than 150 in the whole US is kind of hard to believe. i guess this would be a question to importers.....

#35 ·
not sure about the 05. but i know for the 08 312R its was because you need 150 on the sales floor to race in the American series so that is why that many made to the states and was publicized. FBF ran the race team and lets say they were not very successfull and by the end of the season ditched the Marzocchi and you guessed it fitted them with Ohlins

US import numbers for MV have always been very small. I do not have valid numbers, but have been advised that far less then 1000 total have been brought to US in even the biggest year. More like 500 or less total of all models in any given year.
For example, less than 50 white 2008 910R, about 25 Orange 2008 910S..totally maybe 150 2008 Brutale...and maybe (my guess) 250 total 2008 F4....

Compare that to the 10's of thousands of Hon-Kaw-Suz-Yam sport bikes sold in US each year and it really is a tiny number!!!!
