I'm in Southern California and have had a deposit on a bike for weeks. Dealer said October and now I have a funny feeling I may be waiting for some time. Others waiting on a bike?

Cheers,

Tom

Me. Missed out on the first batch in Canada, so I'm on shipment 2. Put my deposit down a few months ago. Was told October as well, but that always seemed optimistic. Started a small collection of bits already tho, so that's helping keep the anticipation really high.

Waiting since April!

Hi guys, here shearing my case from Japan. I order my F3 (White) back in April. The sad reality... I am still waiting to arrive!!! And we are in November! They told me it should come on next ferries shipment (40 days after leave Italy. Any body has any case like that?? Is MV really that slow making bikes???

Thank!

Shashankmittal, how would you describe the differences between the F3 and the S1000RR? (I know they are not competitors, but humor me)
I did level 1 of Keith Code's Superbike School last weekend using their S1000RR .... hell of a bike!

White F3 available at European Motorsports in Dahlonega GA.....or at least it was a couple of weeks ago.

TKO, are you serious? The BMW has 180 RWHP and the F3 about 115. The F3 is all about high-RPM HP, where the Bimmer is HP + torque. The F3 is much less intimidating to ride as it's less likely to be travelling so fast so quickly. The comparable bike to the BMW RR is the F4 Corsa Corte, which has about the same power level.

Good morning rz33v4, yes I am serious. As I wrote, I know they are not direct competitors. I was asking someone who seems to own both bikes, to describe more of the feeling, weight, character, handling, personality between the two, than the obvious HP differences. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I was just curious since I have never been on an F3 but just came back from the Code school with a day on the S1000RR.

All the best,

Tom

TKO, well I haven't ridden a BMW RR, but I used to roadrace and have ridden an 1198S as well as my F3.
Apples and oranges, those two bike classes - totally different characters. The 600-class bikes like (no, require) lots of RPMs to really haul butt, whereas the 1000-class bikes have a surfeit of power and torque at most any RPM. These differences in power mean the bikes must be ridden differently as well, the 600s are more about maintaining cornering speeds while the 1000s really don't care - there is enough power to grunt out of corners even if your cornering style is sloppy. For most riders the 600s are less intimidating, like I said earlier; in fact, I think it's safe to suggest most riders can't handle the power of the 1000s, especially in the street environment.

I ordered a Black one and was told end of October when I ordered but am now being told end of November. Once this next shipment is in the dealer is telling me that any future orders will only take 3 weeks from order to delivery as MV USA will have enough units that they will be able to keep some in stock.

Also, there is still a Red F3 in stock at FBF.

I haven't thought about it, its hard to determine the market value of new model bikes. Will need to check with the dealer. The bike is in mint condition though. PM me if you need any info, don't want to hijack this thread LOL

Hey hey, put my deposit down in mid August for a black F3 model, still waiting. Was told end of October, but now looking like early November. Shit, it's already the 3rd!

DaHulk, I spoke to Greg at Ride, he said he's been calling Motovan. I just sat on that white F3 on Thursday to placate my impatience.

I figured I've waited so long already, what's another few days. Besides, it's getting cold out there. :p

Smelly, Motorsports World in Ottawa have a black one left over from the first shipment you can right now. Thanks to me they have the most experience with F3’s of any dealer too, bonus eh? :naughty:

Thanks Stephen, Greg mentioned that they entertained then thought of getting that bike, but backed out because it was a floor model. He said being black in colour it had the chance of showing more scratches and other marks, and would prefer to get one out of the crate. I agree. It's been so long now a few more weeks wouldn't matter. Also, I'd like to take my crate home also, but I think you know what I mean ;)
