Radar & Laser shifter installed ('05 F4)

I'm back :f4:

After my last hefty speeding ticket i decided it was time to install an Escort 9500ci system on the MV. It has radar front/back, GPS and front and rear laser shifters.

I'll probably pick it up this evening. Installation was done at Aston Martin Atlanta. Everything was very thought out and due to the limited space we had to be creative with the placement of things but it all fit and is very concealed.

Everything looks great !!!
Just as a precaution, the ECU area gets very hot.
I'm not sure how heat sensitive the device is that's placed on the ECU, but it might be a good idea to have a raised mount added if there's room.
Looks to be a hell of a kit (to install as well).

If need be i can install a heat shield between the ECU and box but I'm pretty sure its fine. Yes its difficult to install. They did a hell of a job. All cables are wrapped in heat shrink tubes. There will be no visible wires. It took them 2-3 days. I haven't seen the bill. Its not cheap but cheaper than some more tickets. :naughty:

Tim-

Looks good. A couple of questions: Where is the GPS? Is it audio only?

Also, why did you have the install done at Aston Martin? Would they be able to do a GPS install for other MVs (I know yours is a radar install), or was this a favor only for you?

Thanks

I don't really know any thing about your system, but one of the systems that I was about to purchase in the UK, but ended up loaning for the week, always detected the police radar (100%)but at the same time it got you for speeding:wtf: and the GPS part just tell me were the fixed cameras are which I can always see any way, thats why I took it back.

Hey....Dave and Melanie and I were there just last week before they went back home to Kiwi land (Dave has an Aston Martin so we go there to drool on the new stuff and buy t-shirts). Nice guys and accustomed to working on high end toys.

Calsonic, they are a dealer/installer for these systems (kind of goes with owning a Lotus/Lamborghini/Aston Martin, all of which they sell new).

Nice install, wonder what I could do with a Brutale???? I've been dreaming of getting that system but install on a naked bike may be impossible.

Mind if I ask what the system cost? (not the labor).

I have a lower end Passport radar/laser detector (no shifting, no GPS) that I mount on the handlebars occasionally, but it sticks out like a sore thumb. It has a blue tooth transmitter and I have an alert LED receiver in my helmet that lights up in the corner of my vision. Works OK, but kind of conspicuous.
