Rearsets - beware of WPR

Just a heads up....

You need to be aware of the rear sets from Neil Halsam in the UK from World Performance Racing... he claims to sell a set for the F3... don't work. If you're looking to replace the OEM rearsets, stay clear of these.

It cost me over $100 and about 50 hours of work in re machining the rear sets, cutting down parts, making replacement ones and so on to be able to get these to work. The end result is a hack job unfortunately.

Since there are so few options out there for the F3, I just want to alert everyone to stay well clear of these. They seem like a good deal - they're not.


(when I asked for a refund since they obviously don't fit the bike, I got... total silence)

I have the same ones, and apart from reworking the rear brake hose routing and adding a couple of washers to the gear pivot/link mount i had no trouble at all.

Just took a bit of time.

I got pretty aggrevated at the time but in hindsight over reacted.

Do you have stock body work? Keep the kickstand?

The shift rod attachment didn't clear the body work. Shims were needed. The shift lever nut that screws in through the kickstand is designed to be used without a kickstand and we had to manufacture a new part. Then the shift lever was hidden from the footpeg, so spacers were needed so that your toes can actually click on it. The heel guard has adjustments on them, which are not adjustable. Only 4 of the 6 footpeg positions on the left rearset can be used if you use the heel guard. On the right rearet if you don't want to relocate the entire break master cylinder, and want to use the heel guard, then spacers are needed so that the rearset doesn't rub on the exhaust guard. if you use the heel guard, then there is no where to screw it in unless you use two of the footpeg holes, meaning then that only 3 of the 6 are useable, and the bottom ones only. Both heel guards have to be bent into a new shape or they hang on your boot.

The shift lever cam arm at the top of the lever - cannot be tightened as it was intended because there is no clearance between it and the frame so it had to be remachined. The screw doesn't lock the cam onto the bike as every other system out there does, so check its tight regularly.

Basically, of all the different brands of rearset I've used over time, none have been this poorly thought out and designed.

I have photos documenting all of the problems if anyone wants to see them.

Ahhhh. Yeah mine is race only so not stock bodywork or a side stand. Didn't even occur to me when i asked the question sorry.

I can see how it would have (and clearly did) caused you a lot of headaches on a stock bike!
