Thumbs up Dreams can come true.....

Sailing the 1934 J Class race boat Endevour in 15 knots of wind.......

I'm not much of a sailor, but I've run the foredeck on 1936 Pandora, a 81' bug eye ketch......with NO wenches, it took 15 people to pull the Geneoa

God, we used to push that boat😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

Best moment......Ancient Mariner Race Long Beach Harbor, we come across a Hobie Cat fleet, they have the the right way......

They're yelling at me on the bow.......I yelled back "I weigh 41 tons and have a 5" keel and have a couple of thousand feet of sail up..... your problem"

Actually, if dipshit, steering, had blown 5 long blasts on the horn we would have been legal.......

Hey, we didn't run over anyone ......no contact no foul
cruiser and Nesca like this.

Thumbs up ?

Nes;
The guy that taught me sailing......was a wet sailor......he sat on the low side......so he could see if the foresail was luffing......
He had a Cal 24....... we'd push it until the water was up on the cabin windows.......just keep tightening the sails.... totally balls to the wall

Seeing a J Boat with water on the deck brings back fond memories....of sailing......with Ed (he was like my 2nd father) and my cousin Bobby......
Later Bobby beat Dennis Connor in Match Races here in SoCal

I'd LOVE to sail on a J Boat.......just like in the video......not a race....

Because I'm kind of like my uncle Kenneth....... captain of the scratch boat Serina in the '75 TransPac Race....he walked around the boat and checked EVERY fitting.....if a fitting didn't work with finger pressure he removed it and threw it overboard....
The owner saw him and questioned him why......" If it doesn't work it can kill someone or sink the boat"

Simple
