Hopefully he has a full and speedy recovery.
It seems to be the type of accident that's hitting the news almost every week down here lately. Several cyclists killed in my area the last few weeks by drunk drivers

Current steed - MY16 Dragster RR
Previous Bike - 2008 Triumph Street Triple
Scottish and living it up in South East Spain

Terrible news, that's why I don't ride anything on the road anymore. Mountain bikes dirt bikes and the track, period. (Unless it's a Bubbalicious/GapAlicious get together ) Riding a road bike and you're only wearing a helmet and some spandex.

Hope it turns out all right.

What we've got here, is failure to communicate.

Must have been quite an impact judging by the damage to the car. Looks like he's had surgery and is in an induced comma. Hoping for a positive outcome and a full recovery.

It sounds really bad for Nicky, serious brain damage?

Unfortunately more bad news from Nicky. Looks like his recovery is practically imposible, according to this: «La recuperación de Nicky Hayden es materialmente imposible» - Motorbike Magazine
The doctors are waiting for his parents to take the final decision on it. So, so , so sad....and stupid!
